AMALDI 4 CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS

DEADLINE FOR RECEIPT OF MANUSCRIPTS:  30 SEPTEMBER 2001

Manuscripts presented for publication in the Proceedings of Amaldi 4 will be considered for inclusion in a special issue of Classical and Quantum Gravity, published by the Institute of Physics Publishing.  Each paper submitted for the Proceedings will be refereed to the usual standards of quality for the journal, taking into account the conference nature of the submissions. Thus background papers will be considered more favourably than would be normal for a regular submission.

Registration fees include a copy of the Conference Proceedings.

There is a nominal length of 6 pages per contributed paper (including posters) and 10 pages for overview papers (see how to estimate length of your paper below).

Below are the Guidelines for Authors.  Please submit your manuscript for publication in the Proceedings and on the Conference web page immediately in the following manner:

*  As a .pdf file attached to an e-mail to D. Greenwood (debbie@physics.uwa.edu.au) for placing on the Conference web page.
AND
*  Electronically or in hard copy to the publishers as outlined in the Guidelines below.

GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS

Please note that conference papers will be set in the usual Classical and Quantum Gravity journal style.
Contributions should be as concise as possible.

Submission instructions

Electronic submission is preferred and enables us to provide electronic refereeing and faster publication. Files may be sent by e-mail to cqg@iop.org or via the web page www.iop.org/Journals/authorsubs.   CQG prefer to receive the articles in LaTex or Word not  in .pdf format.

Please note the item 3) below concerning colour figures.

If you prefer to send a paper submission, please use the following instructions:

1)   Submission form  - should be completed and sent with the original manuscript to
Dr Andrew Wray, Classical and Quantum Gravity, Institute of Physics Publishing, Dirac House,
Temple Back, Bristol BS1 6BE, ENGLAND.

2)   Three copies of the typescript - each copy must include:

     (a)   Title page with full title of article, name(s) of author(s) and address(es) of establishment(s) where work was carried out
     (b)   Abstract
     (c)   Text typed with double spacing on A4 (210 mm x 297 mm) or similar paper with a left margin of not less than 40 mm
and a right margin of not less than 20 mm
     (d)   List of references given in either the numerical or the Harvard (alphabetical) system
     (e)   List of captions for illustrations
     (f)   Set of copies of illustrations with lettering added
     (g)   Authors may use any font and font size (within reason) and any paper size (A4 and US Letter are the most common)

(All the conversion to B5 layout, house style and house fonts is done by our production staff of CQG after acceptance.)

3)   One set of fair copies of diagrams
If photographs are included, they must be supplied as good quality glossy prints, not as negatives. We offer free reproduction of colour illustrations in the online journal. However, full-colour printing remains expensive and we ask authors (or their institutions) to pay the additional costs incurred if they also require colour in the printed journal. An estimate of the charges can be obtained from the Publisher. If any changes are made to the figures between the original and final manuscripts, new original figures must accompany the revised manuscript.

4)   Electronic code of final version (if available)

If no code is available, please tick the appropriate box on the submission form. The electronic code should be e-mailed to the publisher at cqg@iop.org once the article has been accepted for publication.

Further submission information can be found in the booklet Notes for Authors (available on request from the Guest Editors or the Publisher), or on our web site www.iop.org/Journals/nfa/index.html
